65: time to hit the road

Checked out of the Brooklyn AirBnB and in to the Chelsea Inn.

Not the Chelsea Hotel, thought it seemed too good to be true (more on that later):

The Chelsea Inn is not bad; small rooms but in a newly renovated pre-war walk-up on w 17th st near Union Square. 4*:

Evening, met Adrienne in the lower east-side for cocktails/apperizers & dinner.

THE BEST appetizer in NY: happy hour at Bar Belly - oysters, $1 apiece:

Funky-good bar in that neighborhood:

And dinner at Kiki’s - excellent appetizers, RETSINA, so-so entree:

…and the late-night stroll to the subway. Lower east-side has the highest density of funky-cool establishments of the neighborhoods we visited over the month:
