2026 Feb 1-5: PdE

The end of our month here is coming into view, we leave on the 6th. We’ve settled into something of a routine (i’m writing this on the 5th). Mornings - exercise & yoga & b’fast of granola, yogurt, oatmeal & toast w/marmalade; over to the cafe in the Kavlin Cultural Center for a coffee & to to work on the taxes (me) and PolarSteps (L); home or out to lunch, grocery shopping (yes - every say), then through what has become our favorite neighborhood: San Rafael, to the beach for a swim, walk, nap; home for dinner, dishes accompanied by Dead youtube videos, wind down maybe with a movie, maybe not. All travel is by bicycle, it’s all within a 15 or 20 min ride.

Here’s the beach at San Rafael:

Along the way to/from the beach:

There is a very nice hotel in San Rafael, the Hotel L’Auberge. We stopped in for a wine & affogato:

Here’s the typical workday scene in cafe Fundación Kavlin:

There are coloful birds here:

And parking monitors. In all the crowded places and designated parking lors, there are blue vested workers helping oeople park - they spot openings, guide people in, make sure there is a good space between cars and no frive eays are blocked. Nice:
